Where history comes Alive
At The Antique Tool Source, we are dedicated to the outreach of antique tools of all genres. Our mission is to promote the continued knowledge of both known (published) and unknown (unpublished) tools through meticulous research, collaboration, and detailed photographs. By identifying and documenting the unique characteristics of each tool, we provide a comprehensive resource for enthusiastic tool collectors around the world.

MORE ABOUT ANTIQUE
A Personal Message from John Eric Christensen
Dear Friends, Collectors, and Fellow Tool Enthusiasts,
When I first began collecting antique tools, I never imagined it would grow into a lifelong passion and a thriving community. What started as a simple appreciation for craftsmanship quickly became a deep respect for the history, ingenuity, and stories behind every tool.
Each antique tool carries more than wood, steel, or brass — it carries the hands of the craftsman who shaped it, the workshop where it lived, and the projects it helped bring to life. These tools are not just relics of the past; they are preserved pieces of American history and craftsmanship.
At The Antique Tool Source, our mission goes beyond buying and selling. We are dedicated to research, documentation, and education. Whether a tool is widely published or rarely seen, we strive to identify its origins, understand its purpose, and preserve its legacy. Through detailed photography and collaboration with collectors and historians, we work to ensure that this knowledge is never lost.
I believe antique tool collecting is about more than ownership — it’s about stewardship. We are temporary caretakers of these historical artifacts, responsible for passing them along to the next generation with greater knowledge and appreciation than when we received them.
Our community is what makes this journey truly meaningful. The conversations at Cross Meets, the stories shared over tables of rare finds, and the friendships built around a shared love of tools are what inspire me most. Whether you are a seasoned collector, a historian, a craftsman, or someone just discovering the world of antique tools, you are welcome here.
Thank you for being part of this growing community. Thank you for preserving history. And thank you for keeping the legacy of craftsmanship alive.
I look forward to seeing you at our events, in our shops, or connecting with you online.
With appreciation and respect,
John Eric Christensen
